The ePhilos solution offers significant flexibility compared to industry-standard software. Customizations made for the company have helped establish a strategic procurement process, minimize “maverick buying,” and significantly reduce procurement costs. Notably, the direct service and immediate support provided by ePhilos stand out as key benefits.

A glimpse into our individual projects

Werkstatt 4.0
This project was developed in collaboration with STRABAG BMTI GmbH. Together, the goal was to further automate workflows for more than 150 workshops and over 1,800 employees responsible for construction equipment of all kinds.
A Microsoft Dynamics application was used to establish the foundation for the electronic management of work orders, such as equipment repairs. This includes time and resource planning (personnel, materials) for work orders. CATO – named by STRABAG – is based on ComfortMarket, the eProcurement solution from ePhilos AG, which has been in use at STRABAG SE for almost 20 years.
A seamless process was created across both MS Dynamics and CATO via various interfaces (work orders, demand requests, orders, and goods receipt). This not only maps work orders but also integrates the operational procurement process for the required materials.
When work orders are transferred to CATO, a "wish list" of materials is generated. This list is then checked against the available assortment in CATO using automated search mechanisms. The system generates a search results list, displaying orderable materials, from original parts to cost-effective alternatives. The order is then mirrored back to MS Dynamics.
Thanks to the progress made in this project, the data-driven approach allows for better cost calculation of work orders. The systems can exchange data automatically, paving the way for Werkstatt 4.0! This project marks a major success in automating workshop operations at STRABAG BMTI GmbH.

Data hub
The goal of the project, in collaboration with our client NORDSEE, was to expand and solidify ComfortMarket as the central data hub for master and transactional data (materials, order confirmations, delivery notes, invoices). NORDSEE has been using ComfortMarket for many years as their eProcurement solution to supply more than 300 stores (both owned and franchise stores)
For this purpose, ComfortMarket has always been fed with master and transactional data from various sources (NORDSEE WMS, SAP ECC, supplier systems). With the transition to new SAP systems and the simultaneous implementation of a new POS system (NCR) at NORDSEE, ComfortMarket had to be restructured and extended to ensure that all incoming data (master and transactional data) would flow centrally and be distributed to other systems. This data hub implementation significantly improved processes, enabling better data integration, accuracy, and system compatibility.

Seamless integration between ComfortMarket and DocuWare
Efficient processes require smooth system integrations – this is exactly what we were able to achieve together with our customer GBA. The aim of the project was to transfer the ordering and goods receipt processes from our eProcurement solution ComfortMarket directly into the document management system DocuWare and thus optimize the invoice verification process. Ricoh Deutschland GmbH was directly responsible for the implementation in DocuWare.
Thanks to the newly created interface, orders from ComfortMarket are now automatically sent to DocuWare after they have been transmitted to the supplier. Goods receipts including the current status “goods receipt completed yes/no” are also transferred directly. This means that all relevant data is available in a central location, which simplifies the subsequent invoice verification process.
Thanks to the successful implementation, GBA was able to further digitize its internal processes and reduce manual steps. The project shows once again how powerful and flexible our interface solutions are. We have already developed numerous interfaces to a wide variety of systems – in the future we will continue to support companies in making their processes more efficient through smart integrations.

Top class – Werder Bremen back in the Bundesliga
Procurement today: “Will Werder continue to rely on ePhilos as the procurement tool for catalog-based purchasing with ERP integration?”
Janzen: “Yes, it’s working well. However, we still need to integrate it with D3 and Navision. This concept, along with some other projects in this area, has been put on hold due to relegation and COVID-19.”

Price and dealer information on the internet
Collection and preparation of well-structured data on the sale prices of nearly 500 products and product variants from previously unknown dealers on the internet, for a defined period. Project partner: Coca-Cola European Partners Deutschland GmbH, Mr. Hugh Landsman, Germany.
CCEP DE with headquarters in Berlin is responsible for bottling and distributing Coca-Cola branded products throughout Germany and, with a sales volume of nearly 3.8 billion liters (2018), is the largest German beverage company. The company employs around 8,000 people and has a product portfolio of more than 80 non-alcoholic beverages, which are bottled in 16 production facilities.
Project Content
CCEP was interested in finding out in which online shops or marketplaces a specific number of defined products are offered at which prices.
With the knowledge gained, cross- and upselling activities were to be initiated in marketing and sales with the goal of deeper market penetration.
A collection (Global Scraping) and evaluation of relevant information on the internet was carried out using product-specific web crawler bots and their integration into an existing bot learning infrastructure, such as:
- Name and contact details of the retailer
- Product title, product description
- Price, delivery fee, delivery availability
- Size, packaging, availability
The subsequent in-depth analysis and optimization of the data for the planned use was followed by the corresponding visual preparation. This implementation was carried out in close coordination and with the participation of both project partners.
Summary and Conclusion
Project duration and benefits were particularly well balanced due to the high level of automation relative to the effort involved. The insights gained exceeded expectations and help sales generate new leads, as well as marketing to target retailers effectively.
